Inspired by the delicate beauty of the house’s original stained glass windows, this design draws from their intricate depictions of foliage, flowers, and small animals, as well as their soft, harmonious colors. This inspiration informs a vision where each room blooms with a unique character, yet they come together to form an interconnected “ecosystem”, much like the natural world featured in the glass. The overall atmosphere will breathe a romantic and feminine energy to aid in the blooming effect.

At the heart of this design is a balance between softness and strength. Elements like roses - known for their romance, femininity, and sharp thorns - become a central conceptual motif, blending passion with subtle power. There will be a sense of liminality, a place between worlds, yet will feel nostalgic and welcoming. Merging playfulness with functionality, each space stands alone in its uniqueness but remains deeply intertwined, creating an immersive, holistic environment that feels like home, yet just beyond reach.

The design offers a rich, multi-sensory experience, blending tactile textures and bold visuals to create an immersive environment. Drawing inspiration from the client’s vision for a “mish-mash clash” aesthetic, the space will embrace contrasting elements; namely, the combination of eclectic patterns, vibrant colors, and a mix of styles to achieve a dynamic and playful atmosphere.

To adhere to constantly evolving needs, the design will incorporate sustainable materials and eco-friendly design strategies. Furniture selections will be bold, featuring many pieces from India Mahdavi’s collection in order to reflect the client’s desire for an interior inspired by her distinctive style. Additionally, lighting will play a key role, enhancing the mood while serving as artistic focal points through stained glass.
